Install

Make sure PGDG and PIGSTY repo available:

pig repo add pgsql -u   # add both repo and update cache

Install this extension with pig:

pig install omnigres;		# install via package name, for the active PG version
pig install omni_schema;		# install by extension name, for the current active PG version

pig install omni_schema -v 18;   # install for PG 18
pig install omni_schema -v 17;   # install for PG 17
pig install omni_schema -v 16;   # install for PG 16
pig install omni_schema -v 15;   # install for PG 15
pig install omni_schema -v 14;   # install for PG 14

Create this extension with:

CREATE EXTENSION omni_schema CASCADE; -- requires omni_sql, omni_vfs, omni_polyfill, omni_yaml, dblink, postgres_fdw, omni_types, omni_cloudevents

Usage

omni_schema: Advanced schema management tooling

The omni_schema extension manages application schemas through migrations and object reloading from filesystems.

Run Migrations 

SELECT * FROM omni_schema.migrate_from_fs(omni_vfs.local_fs('/path/to/migrations'));

Recursively finds .sql files, applies them in path name order, skips previously applied migrations. Tracks execution in omni_schema.migrations table.

Reload Schema Objects 

SELECT * FROM omni_schema.load_from_fs(omni_vfs.local_fs('/path/to/project'));

Reloads functions, policies, and views from the filesystem. To ignore a file, place omni_schema[[ignore]] in it (typically in a comment).

Multi-Language Support

Supports SQL, PL/pgSQL (.sql), Python (.py), Perl (.pl), Tcl (.tcl), and Rust (.rs). Use the SQL[[...]] directive to specify function signatures:
