Install

Make sure PGDG and PIGSTY repo available:

pig repo add pgsql -u   # add both repo and update cache

Install this extension with pig:

pig install omnigres;		# install via package name, for the active PG version
pig install omni_os;		# install by extension name, for the current active PG version

pig install omni_os -v 18;   # install for PG 18
pig install omni_os -v 17;   # install for PG 17
pig install omni_os -v 16;   # install for PG 16
pig install omni_os -v 15;   # install for PG 15
pig install omni_os -v 14;   # install for PG 14

Create this extension with:

CREATE EXTENSION omni_os;

Usage

omni_os: Operating system integration

The omni_os extension provides access to operating system facilities. Intended for superuser use.

Environment Variables

The omni_os.env view exposes system environment variables:

SELECT * FROM omni_os.env;

Column	Type
`variable`	text
`value`	text

Works similarly to the env command-line utility, returning all environment variables visible to the PostgreSQL process.
